Boy Scouting Being a Boy Scout
Boy Scouting was established in 1911 by Lord Baden-Powell. It was started to partially provide adolescent boys with a group to learn the moral values of life. Boy Scouting has grown over the past 100 years into something that is easily recognizable around the world.
Boy Scouting teaches young men different skills necessary for survival not only in the outdoors but also in life. The rank of Eagle symbolizes a scouts growth in maturity and knowledge. Many employers recognize this hard to earn achievement and often consider it when making decisions.
Boy Scouting is not always about serious matters. It aims to please all scouts and to make sure that everyone has fun.
